Welcome to United BBQ! Our goal is to prepare superior, authentic, pit-smoked barbecue using the finest ingredients. We are ‘United’ because we have an eclectic approach to barbecue. We even offer a full array of vegetarian and vegan options!
All of our meats (and seitan) are Hickory-smoked ‘low and slow’ for an awesomely tender texture and rich flavor. Cooking times range from 2 hours for poultry up to 16 hours for brisket! Before we put any meats into our giant smoker (which holds up to 700 pounds at a time), we apply a spicy rub. Our chicken uses a California-inspired sage and garlic combination, our pork a North Carolina style rub which is sweeter than the peppery Texas rub that we use on our brisket and beef ribs. Our turkey and wings use a Chicago style rub that features mustard, salt, sugar and pepper.
Once our meats are removed from the smoker, we serve them with one of a couple different barbecue sauces that we prepare in our kitchen. Our pulled pork is served with a tomato-based vinegar sauce N. Carolina style. Our other meats (and seitan) are combined with our second sauce, which is a hybrid Kansas City and Memphis recipe for a tangy, sweet and spicy flavor.
